“Our Hearts are Red” (OHAR) is the premier annual Parents Association social and fundraising initiative. It’s a joyful, generous gathering of our community to celebrate our passion, commitment and, most significantly, our heart for Somerset College.

This year, we shift into a more relaxed gear without forfeiting style and ambiance of 2018’s stylish Masquerade Ball. With the school so interwoven with the farming community, we thought it a great idea to celebrate our Boland Heritage by gathering around a Harverst Table on Friday, 10th May, in the Boonzaier Hall.

INVESTING IN OUR TEACHERS FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATION

A school is only ever as good as its teachers. Motivated, skilled teachers are therefore at the centre of ensuring that our children receive an excellent education, as we inspired and challenge them to learn, grow and develop the knowledge and skills they will need in order to adapt and flourish in an ever-changing world.

In support of this objective, we are pleased to announce that the Parents’ Association’s fundraising focus for 2019 is the establishment of an Endowment Fund for Teacher Development. Your support thereof will directly contribute to offering our staff further opportunities for enrichment, growth and acknowledgement, the positive impact of which will be felt directly by our students.

Your support of this OHAR initiative would be greatly appreciated for its contribution to the future of the school. We look forward to seeing you at the Somerset College Harvest Table that will build on OHAR’s impressive legacy and celebrate the growth of the past few years.
